Most plantation shutter problems aren't manufacturing problems — they're install problems. A 1/8-inch out-of-square frame causes light gaps for the next decade. A wrong-size mounting screw pulls out of drywall in two summers. ShutterUp solves this by keeping installation in-house: every panel we sell is installed by a salaried ShutterUp employee, never a sub-contractor.
You can buy the best plantation shutters on the market and still end up with a poor result if installation is sloppy. The frame has to be perfectly level and plumb to within 1/16-inch. The shim work behind the frame has to compress evenly so the panels don't bind. The mounting hardware has to engage solid material — drywall alone won't hold a 30-pound panel through a decade of opening and closing. Most national chains sub-contract install to whoever is cheapest in your zip code that week. We don't.
Our install team is on payroll, trained in our Fort Myers shop, and only installs ShutterUp products. They've done thousands of plantation shutter installs across Southwest Florida — they know what works in concrete-block construction (most of Cape Coral and Naples), what works in stucco-on-frame (newer construction), and what to do when an opening is 1/2-inch out of square (almost every older Florida home).
For a typical 8-window single-family install, our team is in and out in 4-6 hours. A whole-home install with 25-40 openings runs 1-2 days, sometimes scheduled across two visits to limit disruption. We coordinate the install date once your panels finish manufacturing — typically 4-6 weeks after design approval.
Our installers cover Naples, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs, Estero, Sarasota, Venice, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Marco Island, Ave Maria, Golden Gate, Palm Beach, and every community between. We don't charge install travel — every quoted job includes the team showing up at your home, on your schedule.
Every plantation shutter we sell is built in our Fort Myers, FL factory by craftsmen on our payroll, then installed by our W-2 install team. The same company that built it is the company that installs it and the company that warranties it. That's why our lifetime warranty is genuinely lifetime.
Lifetime warranty on every plantation shutter we install. Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Cape Coral, and the entire Florida coast.
