Arched windows are some of the most beautiful windows in any home — and the hardest to cover. Most national plantation shutter brands either won't quote them at all or quote a half-measure that ruins the line of the arch. Custom-built plantation shutters do them right — fitted to the exact arc of your opening, with blade orientation that respects the geometry.
An arched window can't be measured with a tape measure alone. Our designer creates a paper or plywood template of the actual opening — every arc, every dimension, every detail. The template goes to our Fort Myers factory with photographs and shop drawings. The shutter is built to the template. When we install, the shutter fits the opening exactly because it was built from the opening.
We've built plantation shutters for half-round windows, full-round windows, octagons, trapezoids, gable-end triangles, and pretty much every other unusual shape Florida architects have come up with. The process is the same: template the opening, design the panel, build it in our factory, install it perfectly. Cost is higher than standard rectangles, but the result is intentional architecture rather than awkward compromise.
For arched and curved cuts, AlumaCore® and hardwood both work — AlumaCore® is more dimensionally stable in Florida humidity, hardwood gives a richer grain look on premium installations. We rarely use vinyl for arched work because the manufacturing process for arched panels needs material that holds shape precisely under stress.
Every plantation shutter we sell is built in our Fort Myers, FL factory by craftsmen on our payroll, then installed by our W-2 install team. The same company that built it is the company that installs it and the company that warranties it. That's why our lifetime warranty is genuinely lifetime.
Lifetime warranty on every plantation shutter we install. Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Cape Coral, and the entire Florida coast.
