Bay windows are architectural showpieces — and they deserve plantation shutters that match their geometry. Cookie-cutter blinds and curtains never look right on a bay; the angles fight everything you put on them. Custom plantation shutters fitted to each panel of the bay finally make the window look intentional.
The whole point of a bay window is that different sections face different directions. South-facing center panel takes direct midday sun; east-facing side panel takes morning sun; west-facing side panel takes afternoon sun. Each one wants different blade angles at different times of day. Our bay window plantation shutter installs give every panel independent control — open the side facing the morning sun, leave the center closed for afternoon glare.
Bay window depths vary, often 6"-12" deep. We measure the depth at every panel during the design consultation and choose the mounting type accordingly. Inside-mount works for most bays where the depth is consistent; outside-mount or hybrid hangs work for shallower bays. Done wrong, you get hardware visible from the inside or panels that don't fully open. Done right, you get a finished, intentional installation.
Most bay window installations look best with all panels in the same color — typically a soft white or off-white that complements the home's trim. Some clients want a banded color (different inner and outer panel colors); we can do that with custom matching. We bring color samples in person at the consultation so you can see how each option reads in the actual room light.
